Job summary

David Weekley Homes in Colorado Springs is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our team. This strategic role manages category programs, oversees sourcing, negotiates contracts, and coordinates with partners to ensure value and compliance.

The role requires strong negotiation, math and Excel skills, plus the ability to read residential blueprints. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field is preferred, with 2+ years in residential construction

Qualifications

• 2+ years in residential construction operations or purchasing preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• Ability to read and thoroughly understand residential blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Category Management for assigned categories and establish sourcing programs.
• Negotiate contracts and model discounts; manage bid process from RFP to cost submittal.
• Coordinate with National Category Management Team and with Preferred Partners.
• Review warranty issues and improve value and design with engineering teams.
• Ensure pricing accuracy and communicate findings to leadership.
