Job summary

Liberation Ventures is seeking a proactive Chief of Staff to support the Managing Director on strategic and operational initiatives across the organization. You will help manage projects, build advisory structures, and lead efforts that raise awareness and advance the racial repair agenda.

The role emphasizes rigorous analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and inclusive leadership in a flexible, hybrid work setting with travel as needed. This is a full-time position with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of racial, economic, and gender justice and their intersections, and experience supporting organizations with theories of change and strategic plans.
• Experience in management and/or strategy consulting (ideal but not required).
• Exceptional project management skills with attention to equitable, streamlined processes; highly organized with multiple streams of work.
• Strong ability to manage people from diverse backgrounds and create inclusive, valued environments.
• Strong analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work in a hybrid workplace and travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects operating out of the MD's office, including coordinating research, editors, and stakeholders.
• Stand up LV advisory committees, including a grantmaking panel, advisory council, and fiduciary board.
• Design and facilitate team retreats focused on planning, learning, and team development.
• Support LV staff hiring processes and sourcing of qualified candidates.
• Support LV fundraising and development by identifying new donors and opportunities to present the work.
• Develop research to tell LV’s story with evidence and rigor, and create materials aligned to each story.
• Develop materials for Liberation Ventures, including impact reports, notes, decks, and donor engagements.
