Job summary

ASARCO in the United States is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for engineering across its multi-year expansion program. Reporting to the Project Director, you will oversee governance from pre-feasibility through execution, ensuring scope, quality, safety, schedule, and budget are met.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and SMEs, work with EP/CM partners, operations, procurement, construction, and commissioning to deliver

Responsibilities

• Manage the engineering and SME team ensuring the consistent application of codes, standards, and best practices across the project portfolio.
• Direct and review the engineering activities to ensure that work quality is satisfactory and meets company objectives and adhere to international and local standards.
• Collaborate with the EP/CM teams, site operations, site maintenance, site technical teams, third party consultants and other internal and external service providers.
• Develop and implement fit-for-purpose solutions to facilitate efficient and quality design for the full spectrum of work fronts in the portfolio.
• Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement through analyzing, developing, documenting, and implementing standards and best practices.
• Ensure engineering and design processes, systems, and software are properly setup and implemented. Coordinate quality audit verifications to ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures for all design activities. Recommend and execute corrective actions as required.
• Ensure inputs to project feasibility and detail designs meet company requirements before commencing work. Review inputs to Engineering Execution Plans (EEP) and to Project Execution Plans (PEP).
