Job summary

Intermoor, Acteon’s Moorings and Anchors business line, seeks a Senior Project Cost Controller in Houston to lead project financial control from setup through closeout. You will collaborate with Project Management, Finance, Procurement, Operations and Engineering to safeguard margins.

The role emphasizes budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and audit-ready records, with strong Excel, Power BI, ERP experience and a focus on cost and commercial performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a finance-related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in project cost control or similar.
• Experience with engineering, offshore, marine construction, energy, or EPC projects preferred.
• Experience with forecasting, month-end close, invoicing support, change control, and audits preferred.
• CCP, PMP, or equivalent certification desirable but not required.
• Ability to translate financial data into actionable guidance for non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics NAV/Business Central).

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day financial control of assigned projects from setup to closeout.
• Maintain budgets, cost codes, forecasts, and reports with Project Management and Finance.
• Monitor actual costs, commitments, accruals, revenue, cash flow, and forecast-to-complete; identify variances and risks.
• Provide timely financial information and recommendations to protect project margins.
• Support change control, invoicing inputs, month-end reporting, and audit-ready cost records.
• Set up project budgets, cost codes, and reporting structures in ERP systems.
• Prepare cost-to-complete and estimate-at-completion forecasts.
• Maintain visibility of contract value, milestones, revenue forecasts, and cash position.
• Prepare weekly/monthly cost reports, dashboards, and financial updates.
• Participate in project reviews and month-end close activities.
