Job summary

MSC USA – Charleston is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the North America Regional Office. The role supports sourcing across functions in a complex multinational setting from Charleston, requiring analytical rigor and stakeholder engagement.

The specialist will execute purchasing, drive cost savings, manage suppliers, and coordinate with regional/global teams to optimize value, risk, and service delivery. On-site presence is required five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, engineering, or related field.
• 2–3 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience in a multinational or complex environment.
• Experience in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders and reporting lines.
• Familiarity with procurement processes, sourcing methodologies, and supplier management.
• Experience using ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba or similar).

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day purchasing and sourcing activities in line with procurement policies and delegated authorities.
• Support sourcing initiatives, negotiations, and supplier selection to achieve cost savings and service continuity.
• Collaborate with regional, global, and functional procurement teams in a matrix organization.
• Maintain proactive interaction with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies.
• Provide support in tender and bidding processes and coordinate with Legal and Finance on contracts.
• Manage supplier performance, including delivery, quality, service levels, and terms.
• Monitor and report on procurement KPIs; prepare data to support negotiations and management reporting.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within procurement; ensure documentation and system use.
• Presence on-site 5 days per week.
