Job summary

Steffes is seeking a Procurement Buyer to manage end-to-end purchasing of materials and services for production and operations. You will maintain data accuracy in ERP, process ECOs, and resolve supplier non-conformances while contributing to LEAN initiatives and safety standards.

The role involves working with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely deliveries, cost control, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Experience in procurement preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Execute purchase orders aligned with demand and planning signals
• Review order acknowledgements for accuracy (quantities, prices, delivery dates)
• Manage open orders; coordinate with suppliers to adjust schedules
• Maintain inventory to prevent production interruptions
• Ensure ERP data accuracy (min on hand, reorder quantities, lead time)
• Review supplier non-conformances and drive root-cause analysis
• Assist with supplier selection and development, pricing and terms
• Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for material availability
• Collaborate with Engineering and Sourcing on specs and substitutes
• Participate in LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives
