Job summary

DePaul University is seeking a Procurement Manager to supervise the university's procurement function and lead vendor relationships in Chicago. The role partners with senior leadership to maintain compliant purchasing across the institution and oversee a small team of 2–3 professionals.

Responsibilities include managing day-to-day procurement operations, supporting bid processes, and driving process improvements within the ERP environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive procurement experience.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory or managerial experience.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and procurement/supplier portals.
• Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or similar environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day procurement operations, staff, controls and compliance.
• Review and approve purchase requisitions and ensure competitive, fair purchasing.
• Lead bid processes (RFPs, RFQs, ITBs) and contract negotiations with stakeholders.
