Job summary

Cal Poly is seeking a Chief Procurement Officer who reports to the AVP, Strategic Business Services, and provides strategic leadership for procurement, payables, and budget strategy. The role requires integrating budget with procurement operations to deliver value, mitigate risk, and support institutional priorities.

As a visible university leader, the CPO will drive adoption of modern systems, strengthen supplier engagement, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, procurement, contracting, or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for procurement, payables, and budget strategy.
• Drive adoption of modern systems, enhance supplier engagement, and ensure compliance with laws and policies.
