Daikin Applied Americas Inc. is seeking a Strategic Pricing Manager to partner with Sales, Product Management, Finance, and Operations in Plymouth, MN. You will identify pricing opportunities, develop strategies, and guide pricing decisions that improve margins and competitiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business, Finance, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
• 4-6+ years specifically in pricing, commercial strategy, revenue management, or a closely relative field.
• Strong knowledge of pricing strategies, methodologies, and best practices that drive profitable growth.
• Experience leveraging market dynamics and value-based pricing principles to develop pricing recommendations and business cases.
• Proficiency in pricing governance, approval processes, sales and commercial practices, including quoting and deal economics.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to synthesize large datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; strong executive communication.

Responsibilities

Daikin Applied is seeking a Strategic Pricing Manager with general direction from the Pricing Director, the Strategic Pricing Manager partners with key stakeholders across the organization to support the development and execution of pricing strategies that drive profitable growth, improve price realization, and maintain market competitiveness. This role serves as a strategic pricing resource for assigned business unit(s), using market trends, customer insights, and financial analysis to provide recommendations that support business objectives. The Strategic Pricing Manager works closely with Sales, Product Management, Finance, and Operations to evaluate pricing opportunities, support new product introductions, and identify pricing actions that align with market conditions and profitability goals. The position also contributes to pricing analytics, process improvements, governance, and reporting initiatives that strengthen pricing effectiveness and support long-term business performance.

What you will do:

• In partnership with key stakeholders, identify pricing opportunities through market and financial analysis, and develop and execute pricing strategies that align with business objectives and drive profitable growth
• Lead pricing analyses and recommendations related to price adjustments and new product launches while partnering with Finance and ISC to assess cost impacts, margin requirements, and commercial viability
• Analyze price performance, including price realization, discounts, profitability, and customer economics to develop actionable recommendations
• Develop and maintain pricing models, business cases, and financial analyses to support strategic initiatives and commercial decision-making
• Present pricing performance, strategic initiatives, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership through recurring and ad hoc business reviews
• Provide strategic pricing guidance and recommendations for significant commercial opportunities, national accounts, deal negotiations, and Pricing Approval Requests (PARs)
• Review and approve PARs, as needed, ensuring alignment with pricing policies, governance standards, profitability objectives, and delegated approval authority
• Drive continuous improvement of pricing processes, governance, analytics, data integrity, and commercial effectiveness to enhance decision-making and operational effectiveness
• Partner with cross-functional teams to balance customer value, market competitiveness, and business objectives while enhancing the overall commercial and customer experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making, build alignment, and foster collaboration across cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
• Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience working with large, complex datasets and utilizing pricing analytics, business intelligence, and reporting tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with B2B pricing practices within distribution, HVAC, and manufacturing environments
• Understanding of ERP, CRM, and pricing systems (SAP, Salesforce, PROS, Vendavo, etc)
• Ability to travel up to 10% as business needs require

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $100,800k - $171,700k and a bonus potential up to 15%. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
