Job summary

Ajax Building Company, part of the STO Building group, seeks an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead project planning and cost strategy from concept through GMP. You will align design, budget, and constructability while guiding pricing and estimates in a client-facing role.

The position supports project teams across Florida, with some travel, reporting to the Director of Preconstruction Services. Strong leadership in meetings and collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in preconstruction/estimating within commercial construction.
• Experience leading preconstruction from concept through GMP.
• Client-facing role with meetings and design process influence.
• Experience with education and municipal projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction efforts from concept budgeting to GMP with Operations.
• Guide pricing, validate estimates, align with project goals.
• Develop conceptual budgets and cost models; avoid detailed quantity takeoffs.
• Create design phase deliverables, cost reports, and VE analyses.
• Lead GMP proposals and client presentations; drive constructability.
