Ajax Building Company, part of the STO Building Group, seeks a skilled Preconstruction Manager to lead project planning and cost strategy from concept to GMP, aligning design, budget, and constructability. The role partners with clients, design teams, and operations to guide pricing and validate estimates for efficient, well-coordinated outcomes.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years in preconstruction/estimating in commercial construction.
• Experience guiding design, budget and constructability in early phases.
• Strong client-facing leadership and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction from conceptual budgeting through GMP with Operations.
• Guide pricing, validate estimates, align with project goals.
• Develop budgets, cost models, and design-phase estimates.
• Prepare GMP proposals and client presentations.
• Provide constructability feedback and value engineering recommendations.
• Engage with design teams to challenge assumptions and drive buildable solutions.
