Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Poultry Buyer in Conover, NC to lead poultry sourcing, negotiate favorable terms, and manage supplier relationships. This role supports a fast-moving procurement team within a Fortune 500 food distribution context and requires sourcing expertise to maintain steady product flow.

You will analyze market trends, coordinate with sales, and implement pricing strategies while ensuring on-time delivery and cost control.

Qualifications

Must have 2+ years of poultry purchasing experience.
Experience with large chain restaurants, supermarkets, or broadline foodservice distribution is required.
Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor-management skills.

Responsibilities

Source and select vendors delivering reliable poultry and competitive pricing.
Maintain strong supplier relationships with poultry processors and resolve invoicing or delivery issues.
Purchase product based on demand, EOQ, warehouse capacity, and market conditions.
Negotiate pricing, quantities, and long-term agreements for continuous supply.
Support emergency sourcing needs and expedite products when required.
Provide product and pricing information to the sales team and assist with pricing structures.
Evaluate alternate suppliers and monitor vendor performance.
Assist with special orders and maintain in-stock service levels.
Work to minimize shrinkage and improve procurement efficiency.
Perform additional duties to support the procurement team.
