Job summary

AXIS Capital in New York is seeking a Portfolio Lead to oversee the Claims and Corporate strategic investment portfolios, guiding delivery roadmaps, budgets, and governance across value streams.

You will collaborate with Business Leaders, Product Owners, and Release Train Engineers in a hybrid office model, participating in PI Planning and ensuring alignment with top-level objectives; strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in portfolio management.
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma certifications, Agile delivery certifications (e.g., SAFe SPC, SAFe Lean Portfolio Management, PMI-ACP) or other relevant certifications are advantageous.
• Proven experience in portfolio or project management with a track record of successfully leading and delivering large-scale projects in a matrixed environment.
• Experience deploying AI within a corporate environment.
• Proven experience in the insurance industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive and guide portfolio strategy in collaboration with Business Leaders, Product Owners, Value Stream Leads and Release Train Engineers and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Execute Strategic Alignment: ensure initiatives align with organizational objectives.
• Manage finances (budgets, actuals) of Value Streams and epics and provide reporting on OKRs and KPIs.
• Identify and mitigate risks impacting portfolio success.
• Maintain clear communications with stakeholders and ensure transparency on goals and progress.
• Prioritize and allocate resources to deliver initiatives not supported by Agile Teams.
• Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and identify cross-Value Stream dependencies.
