The City of Stockton is seeking a Planning Manager to oversee the Advanced Planning Section within the Community Development Department. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience in local government planning, strong technical and analytical skills, and extensive knowledge of CEQA, Subdivision Map Act, and Planning & Zoning Law.

This management level role requires directing professional planning staff, coordinating complex projects, and engaging with community groups and agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in city/regional planning or related field; 5 years of professional planning experience.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Must possess a valid California Driver's License; willing to attend evening meetings.

Responsabilités

• Manages the activities of a subsection within the Planning Division; supervises staff.
• Oversees research and administrative activities for planning projects.
• Prepares reports and recommendations and coordinates with other departments and agencies.
• Directs preparation and design of maps, charts, models and graphic presentations.
