Job summary

The Town of Berthoud is seeking an experienced planner to manage development and zoning matters for the Community Development Department. You will serve as the primary liaison for developers and citizens, interpret codes, prepare staff reports, and present to Planning Commission and Town Board in evening meetings.

Qualified candidates have an undergraduate degree in Planning or related field, 5+ years municipal planning experience, supervisory experience, and the AICP certification track.

Qualifications

• Undergrad degree in Planning or related field required.
• Master’s Degree in Planning or related field preferred.
• More than five years of increasingly responsible planning experience in a municipal or county agency required.
• More than three years supervisory experience Required.
• AICP, with 2 years to acquire required

Responsibilities

• Provide primary contact for development and zoning questions.
• Lead planning commission meetings and coordinate with Town Board meetings (evening).
• Interpret and apply codes and regulations per the town’s development rules.
• Prepare staff reports and present to advisory boards and commissions.
• Assist Building division with site plan reviews and related permits.
• Represent the department in regional planning efforts and public notices.
