Job summary

North Augusta is seeking a Director of Planning and Development to lead planning and zoning programs for the City, reporting to the City Administrator and guiding code enforcement activities.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in urban planning or related field, a master’s preferred, 6–8 years of planning experience with at least 2 in a supervisory capacity, and proficiency with ArcGIS and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning, public administration, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Six to eight years of planning experience, with at least two in a supervisory role.
• AICP certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and manages planning and development activities for the City.
• Reviews and drafts staff reports for Planning Commission and City Council.
• Coordinates zoning, site plans, variances, and code enforcement issues.
• Communicates with the public, developers, and officials on development matters.
• Oversees staff training and performance evaluations in the department.
