Consider channeling that rigor into a setting with K-12 students who have never encountered someone of your caliber willing to push them toward standards they didn't believe attainable. If maintaining elite expectations feels punitive to you, this role isn't a fit.

Alpha employs AI-driven 1-on-1 learning that enables students to complete core academics in roughly two hours daily. This structure opens the remainder of each day for life-skill development, passion projects, and meaningful personal growth. At Alpha's most demanding campuses, students require more than oversight. They need a credible mentor whose personal track record establishes the benchmark: someone capable of assessing group dynamics, establishing expectations, and guiding students past resistance, distraction, and uncertainty.

Your role is not instructional. It's about coaching, challenging, and applying the same exacting standards you've maintained for yourself. Forty percent of your time goes to direct 1-on-1 and small-group coaching that identifies obstacles and establishes ambitious objectives. Another forty percent involves facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery rather than engagement alone. The final twenty percent focuses on establishing daily tone: purposeful morning sessions that build a culture where mediocrity is unacceptable.

The trajectory here emphasizes depth over advancement. You begin by mastering Alpha's methodology and earning student trust. Within months, you become the person they trust sufficiently to push them beyond perceived limits. The payoff isn't a title change. It's witnessing a student who avoided eye contact in September deliver a confident presentation to adults in May.

What You Will Be Doing

• Conducting 1-on-1 and small-group coaching using Coachbot analytics and student performance data to identify barriers, establish ambitious targets, and maintain accountability for execution
• Facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery by drawing on credible narratives from your own elite background, then evaluating mastery via Alpha's Test2Pass system
• Establishing cultural expectations each morning with focused kickoff sessions that reinforce high-performance standards campus-wide
• Monitoring student progress continuously and adapting coaching approaches based on data rather than intuition
• Cultivating trusted mentor relationships with students and their families through consistent high standards and documented motivation strategies

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Creating lesson plans, developing curriculum, or evaluating assignments (Alpha's academic framework manages instruction; you drive motivation)
• Presenting to a full classroom of 30 students (your focus is high-impact coaching in small settings, not large-group instruction)
• Supervising other personnel or advancing through an administrative pathway (this position centers on direct student impact, not organizational management)
• Attending faculty meetings or maneuvering through institutional bureaucracy (your schedule remains student-centered)
• Compromising standards to achieve targets (if a student reaches 99%, your role is determining what prevented 100%)

Strategic Performance Coach Key Responsibilities

Lead exceptional student motivation, development, and life-skill mastery at Alpha's most demanding campuses.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of one documented instance of exceptional achievement in a highly selective, internationally recognized field (examples: medals from national or international competitions, graduation with distinction from a top-tier university, employment at a highly selective firm or fellowship, training at an elite performing arts institution, or founding and growing a successful venture)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in student coaching, youth mentoring, athletic coaching, or leadership positions where you demonstrably elevated others' performance
• Able to work on-site at an Alpha campus in New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Santa Barbara, CA (relocation assistance provided)
• Authorization to work legally in the United States

Nice-to-have Requirements

• History in elite competitive athletics (Division 1 varsity, national team representation, or professional competition) with coaching or mentoring experience for younger athletes
• Background in high-accountability sectors such as management consulting, investment banking, or military leadership
• Demonstrated youth development through mentoring in non-academic contexts (community organizations, after-school initiatives, sports camps)
• Ease presenting to and earning trust from high-expectation families investing in premium private education
