As a Strategic Operations Manager on the Direct Ops team, you will drive improvements across key operational pillars including reliability, merchant experience, and overall delivery quality for the US &C Direct business. This role blends strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, requiring strong problem‑solving, operational optimization, data analysis, and project management skills. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, working in a fast‑paced environment, and taking ownership of complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
In this highly collaborative role, you will partner with teams across Local Operations, Commercial, Marketplace Operations, Product, and Finance to identify opportunities, execute initiatives, and scale best practices across the business.
You will leverage data to uncover insights, diagnose root causes of operational challenges, and inform decision‑making across a variety of domains. Depending on focus areas, this may include improving merchant performance, optimizing fulfillment and delivery workflows, or enhancing overall system reliability. This is a highly analytical role that requires strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets to drive measurable business impact.

For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $106,000 per year - USD $118,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $106,000 per year - USD $118,000 per year.
For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
