Job summary

Now CFO in Houston is seeking a skilled Controller to join our nonprofit organization and oversee all financial activities, including reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred, and has proven experience in a nonprofit setting. You will lead a small accounting team, ensure accurate financial statements, and support audits and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
• Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in the non-profit sector.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the organization's financial operations.
• Develop and monitor the annual budget in collaboration with senior management.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Supervise accounting staff and provide training and guidance as needed.
• Support audits and other regulatory reviews.
• Participate in strategic financial planning and decision-making processes.
