American Axle & Manufacturing Inc in Detroit seeks a Buyer for Directed Buy and Chemicals in North America. You will lead strategic sourcing processes, manage RFQs, bid evaluations, and contracting to support Dauch North American manufacturing facilities.

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sales, program management, finance, and suppliers to optimize supply chain and support new product launches. Strong negotiation, ERP experience, and ability to travel are required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years in purchasing, sourcing, or procurement in automotive/manufacturing.
• Knowledge of purchasing policies, procedures and practices.
• Understanding of global sourcing, landed cost and risk management.
• Strong negotiation skills with a history of cost savings.
• ERP experience (Oracle / Plex) and data analytics proficiency.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel for supplier visits and audits.

Responsabilidades

• Contract and PO lifecycle management across regions and teams.
• Execute sourcing within strategy, consolidate suppliers, reduce costs.
• Analyze supplier costs and market trends for savings opportunities.
• Contribute to annual procurement budgeting and monthly forecasts.
• Negotiate prices and establish long-term supplier agreements.
• Develop and manage supplier relationships for quality and delivery.
• Support VA/VE initiatives to improve competitiveness and targets.
• Lead technical sourcing reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and disruptions.
• Coordinate with logistics for inventory levels and efficiency.
