Job summary

The City of Williston is seeking an accomplished Finance Director to serve as its Chief Financial Officer and primary financial advisor to the City Administrator and City Commission. You will oversee budgeting, accounting, treasury, investments, debt management, and reporting, guiding fiscal policy and strategy for a growing community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible governmental finance, accounting, budgeting, auditing, or public administration experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory or executive management role.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid North Dakota driver's license.
• Must be bondable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, accounting, treasury management, investments, debt administration, purchasing, financial reporting, utility billing, and statutory City Auditor responsibilities.
• Lead long-range financial planning and advise leadership on fiscal policy and strategy.
• Mentor staff and foster continuous improvement within the finance department.
