SolomonEdwards seeks a Global Buyer I to lead strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier governance for operational, environmental, and facilities services across the enterprise.

The role partners with Operations, Maintenance, Facilities and EH&S to ensure timely, cost-effective supply of critical services that support plant uptime and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidate has strong category management discipline and 5+ years in industrial procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• Professional Procurement certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in sourcing and procurement with focus on MRO services and contractor management in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience managing MRO categories, supplier portfolios, and multi-site spend.
• Strong contract negotiation, supplier performance management, and cost-reduction track record.
• Knowledge of MRO facilities and environmental services, contractor safety and regulatory compliance, and total cost of ownership concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing and category management for outside services including facilities, environmental, and operational services.
• Develop and execute category strategies aligned to cost, service levels, risk, and standardization.
• Drive supplier consolidation, scope bundling, and implement preferred supplier programs across sites.
• Negotiate terms, MSAs, SLAs, and manage supplier relationships for best-in-class service.
• Monitor supplier performance through audits and compliance with contractual terms.
• Mitigate supplier, supply chain, and regulatory risks; ensure timely delivery of required services.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance and Compliance to align contracts with company standards.
