Job summary

People, Technology & Processes, LLC seeks a Strategic Mobility Manager in VA Beach, VA to oversee movement and staging of gear and equipment for multiple commands. The role involves coordinating with AMC, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with strict safety and regulatory standards.

The position requires hands-on logistics experience, CDL A, forklift, and tractor-trailer licenses, plus extensive knowledge of DoD mobility procedures and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates movement of all Group and component commands’ gear and equipment to meet delivery dates and priorities for pre-positioning.
• Liaisons with Airlift Mobility Command (AMC) for pre-positioning cargo.
• Maintains electronic and paper records: equipment maintenance, load manifests, logs, and related documentation.
• Validates aircraft configurations, hazardous material packaging, and transportation requirements.
• Upkeep of Air Force pallets, nets, and MILVANs, including ISU and ISO containers.
• Maintains vehicle yards, conducts daily rounds, ensures containers are in designated areas.
• Knowledge of transportation planning and coordination, including hazardous materials.
• Knowledge of federal transportation regulations (49 CFR, IATA, IMDG, etc.).
• Maintains journeyman vehicle mechanic skills for automotive and construction equipment; CDL A, forklift, and tractor-trailer licenses.
