Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking an Associate Director, GxP Operations Support Manufacturing Systems to lead the design, delivery, and lifecycle management of MES and manufacturing control platforms across clinical and commercial operations at our Boston site.

You will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, IT, Validation and Engineering to advance compliant, scalable digital manufacturing, data integrity, cybersecurity, and analytics, while building a high-performing MES team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years in manufacturing, automation, MES, or GMP pharmaceutical environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the MES digitalization roadmap.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, IT, and Engineering on improvements.
• Guide MES solution design with modular builds and equipment integration.
• Drive standardization, reliability, and lifecycle management.
• Establish KPIs and monitor system performance and value.
