Job summary

Magna Seating South Carolina seeks a Material Planner to coordinate and manage material supply for production. You will work with suppliers, transport carriers, production teams, and inventory management to ensure timely procurement and optimal stock levels.

The role focuses on preventing shortages or excesses across series production, pre-series, and engineering change projects, with emphasis on continuous improvement and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, International Business, or related field, or 4+ years of material planning experience.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) for planning and inventory management.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material requirements planning (MRP) based on production schedules.
• Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels with regular audits.
• Develop supplier relationships and manage purchase orders and deliveries.
• Coordinate transportation and customs, ensure import/export compliance.
• Support production with proactive plan adjustments for schedule changes.
• Analyze data to identify cost savings and process improvements.
