Job summary

ITT Engineered Valves in Lancaster, PA seeks a Buyer to manage daily procurement for goods and services, balancing cost, efficiency and quality. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in manufacturing purchasing, with APICS desirability and SAP/ERP proficiency.

Responsibilities include forecasting analysis, vendor negotiations, and PO preparation, with a focus on accurate records and lead-time awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field.
• 2+ years of purchasing/procurement experience.
• APICS certification desirable; related coursework in materials management preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with diverse teams.
• Proficient in MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Reviews forecast and analyzes MRP/ERP to purchase/allocate items to meet production plans.
• Communicates with vendors on contracts, pricing, availability, and sourcing.
• Works with suppliers to implement performance improvement programs.
• Prepares purchase orders and informs requisitioners of changes or price differences.
• Maintains vendor records with accurate cost, sources and lead times.
• Analyzes inventories and recommends remedial actions for non-usable or excess stock.
• Backs up other buyers as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
