Job summary

Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, Tennessee, is seeking a Logistics Specialist to ensure shipments are processed timely and delivered to exceed customer expectations. This role operates in the rail operations team with potential to support other modes, using SAP to plan, tender, and monitor shipments from plants and warehouses.

You will work with Supply Chain to optimize priorities, develop planning models, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or business.
• Experience in a similar environment preferred.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Supply Chain to optimize capacity and equipment allocation.
• Develop planning models and tools; share best practices.
• Monitor carrier tender acceptance and routing guide usage.
• Provide analysis of delivery reliability and address systemic issues.
• Lead cross-functional teams on logistics initiatives.
• Back-up for other planning positions and train others.
• Identify cost and service improvements to meet customer demands.
• Develop delivery alternatives to meet urgent customer needs.
• Escalate issues with Supply Chain Manager as needed.
• Additional responsibilities based on assigned mode.
