Job summary

Cherokee Nation Government Solutions (CNGS) is seeking a Logistics Demand Planner to develop accurate demand forecasts, optimize inventory, and ensure smooth material flow across the supply chain in a government/defense context. The role emphasizes data-driven decision making and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 3+ years in demand planning, inventory management, or logistics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for large data sets.
• Proficiency in demand planning software (SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, Kinaxis RapidResponse).
• Deep understanding of ERP/MRP systems and integrations.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau for KPIs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with senior leadership.
• Collaborative and able to manage conflicting priorities.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced supply chain.
• Knowledge of demand forecasting, safety stock, and lead-time management.
• Experience with demand planning tools/models preferred.
• Defense/government logistics experience is a plus.
• Must pass Cherokee Federal pre-employment qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Analyze historical data to develop accurate demand forecasts.
• Coordinate with sales, production, and procurement to align forecasts with goals.
• Adjust forecasts to reflect demand, supply, and lead-time changes.
• Optimize inventory to minimize stockouts and excess.
• Develop strategies for slow-moving and obsolete stock.
• Track inventory metrics and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and transportation for material flow.
• Align production schedules with demand and capacity.
• Manage backorders and resolve delays.
• Use data analytics to drive continuous improvement in planning.
