Job summary

PADNOS is seeking a Category Manager - Logistics to own strategy, sourcing, cost performance, and the provider portfolio for its enterprise-wide third-party transportation network across Michigan and northern Indiana.

The role is strategic, working closely with operations and dispatch, with accountability for provider strategy, contracts, and resolving systemic issues to improve performance.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in logistics sourcing or transportation procurement with cost/performance gains.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or Supply Chain.
• Experience sourcing truck transport across multiple equipment types.
• Able to normalize provider proposals with varying rate structures.
• Experience negotiating transportation agreements and leading sourcing events.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills with cost modeling.
• Experience designing provider scorecards and logistics metrics.
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Travel to Michigan sites required (<10%).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a logistics category strategy and roadmap.
• Lead competitive sourcing events and negotiations.
• Monitor rates, capacity, fuel trends, and market developments.
• Collaborate with operations, risk, dispatch, finance, safety and site leaders.
• Own monthly freight review with senior leadership.
• Ensure accurate implementation of awarded rates and routing instructions.
• Develop provider portfolio and manage onboarding.
