Job summary

POLITICO is seeking a senior sales professional to drive revenue for POLITICO Live through event sponsorships and partnerships. You will identify opportunities, build client relationships and present tailored proposals that connect client objectives with POLITICO's journalism and convening power.

The role requires a passion for journalism, strong live sales experience and the ability to collaborate across marketing, business development and editorial-adjacent teams.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in sales, event sponsorships, experiential marketing, digital advertising, media or a related field.
• Passion for journalism and understanding its importance to democracy.
• Live and experiential sales expertise with brands using live experiences to reach audiences.
• Knowledge of the political influencer market and how decisions are driven.
• Proven sales ability with relationship-building, pipeline and closing complex partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue across POLITICO's live events and experiences and close sponsorship opportunities.
• Build relationships with corporations, associations, agencies and other organizations aligned with POLITICO Live.
• Partner with POLITICO's Business Development team to uncover opportunities within client relationships and new prospects.
• Identify potential partners based on editorial and event calendars, client priorities and policy conversations.
• Develop sponsorship solutions linking client objectives to POLITICO's journalism and audiences.
• Lead client conversations and proposals from outreach through close and negotiation.
• Respond to RFPs with strategic Live solutions and maintain a strong pipeline.
• Collaborate across POLITICO Live, Marketing, Business Development and Account Management to create compelling partnerships.
• Articulate value and differentiation of events and POLITICO's brand.
• Identify emerging client needs and market trends to grow POLITICO Live.
