Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Special Education instructor.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate in Special Education.
• State of Michigan Special Education Administrators Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understands and implements the terms of the Master Contracts.
• Interprets and implements Beecher Board of Education policies, administrative rules and regulations.
• Assists in identifying Special Education staff needs and in recruiting, screening, training and evaluating staff.
• Develops and implements plans for instructional leadership and staff development.
• Conducts staff meetings as needed for proper school functioning.
• Assists in budget development and monitors expenditures.
• Prepares records, reports, requisitions and related administrative paperwork.
• Directs the Special Education program including Child Find procedures.
• Develops scope and sequences in Special Education guidelines from early elementary through high school.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
