Job summary

The State of Iowa is seeking a seasoned leader to serve as Administrative Consultant for Community Colleges in the Bureau of Community Colleges. This role provides essential leadership and oversight for the department’s college programs and accreditation activities.

You will lead the community colleges team, coordinate reform initiatives, and guide ISWJCF programs and related policy work, while engaging with statewide groups and national partners.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, and experience equal to five years of full-time, professional-level work in program administration, development, management, or operations.
• A combination of a total of nine years of education and full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work may substitute for one year of full-time experience.
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in social work, law, education, engineering, or public or business administration, and experience equal to three years of full-time, professional-level work in program administration, development, management, or operations.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes two years of full-time work as an Education Program Consultant.

Responsibilities

• Lead team for community colleges academic and student affairs; collaborate with consultants and leadership; oversee accreditation desk reviews and site visits.
• Coordinate reform projects: scope, timing, goals; implement plans; present data to presidents, trustees, legislative committees, and at national conferences.
• Lead ISWJCF programs; support WTED, PACE, ACE; oversee data collection and policy guidance for state programs.
