Job summary

Essex District Attorney's Office seeks a Juvenile Justice Coordinator to lead Diversion efforts and coordinate community initiatives across Lawrence and surrounding communities. The role engages with police, schools, and social services to identify resources for high-risk youth and monitor cases in the Juvenile/Youthful Diversion Program.

The coordinator will supervise case management, assist in restitution decisions, and participate in Juvenile Court proceedings while promoting prevention

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Suite.

Responsibilities

• Screen and review cases for Diversion eligibility.
• Identify cases suitable for Juvenile/Youthful Diversion programs.
• Coordinate Community Collaborative Initiative meetings with schools, police, and agencies.
• Assist with priority prosecution decisions with Assistant District Attorneys.
• Manage case files for youth and families in the Diversion program; arrange services and restitution as needed.
• Attend Juvenile Court proceedings and participate in community groups and task forces.
• Collaborate with police, court staff, and agencies to ensure effective procedures for juvenile cases.
• Support specialized initiatives such as the fire-setter program.
• Serve as a resource for communities and schools on juvenile justice initiatives.
