Job summary

The Deputy Chief, Strategic Initiatives at District of Columbia Public Schools reports to the Chief of Staff and oversees strategic planning, organizational readiness, and performance management. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and eight to twelve years of related work experience.
• Master's degree strongly preferred.
• Experience in education sector a plus.
• Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads implementation and continuous improvement of the DCPS Strategic Plan with systems and structures.
• Acts as a key connector across district initiatives and supports executive leadership.
• Oversees district performance management, evaluations, and related systems.
• Ensures compliance with district and citywide reporting requirements.
• Leads enterprise-wide planning and readiness for School Opening and priorities.
• Builds relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders to promote collaboration.
• Facilitates strategy meetings and learning opportunities to strengthen capacity.
• Collaborates on interagency responses and constituent engagement.
• Leads special projects for the Chief of Staff and Chancellor to drive outcomes.
