Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA/PhD/MD or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 10+ years in corporate strategy, portfolio strategy, management consulting, or related roles in pharma/biotech.
• Proven track record leading complex strategy, portfolio, growth, or corporate development initiatives.
• Experience in a global matrixed organization and leading cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Ability to structure ambiguous strategic questions and translate qualitative and quantitative data into clear recommendations.
• Strong understanding of biopharma R&D, commercialization, portfolio management, market access and policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead major components of the company's long-term corporate strategy across geographies and therapeutic areas.
• Drive enterprise scenario planning, evaluate strategic pathways and quantify implications and trade-offs.
• Frame complex decisions, assess strategic alternatives, and develop evidence-based recommendations for senior leadership.
• Develop executive summaries and decision materials for Takeda's Executive Team and Board.
• Benchmark industry performance, investment patterns, and portfolio strategies to identify competitive advantages.
• Assess AI, digital health and external developments' impact on business models and strategy.
• Lead M&A, divestitures and other corporate development opportunities with portfolio implications.
• Support annual strategic planning, ensuring coherence across business units, portfolios and functions.
• Translate strategy into measurable outcomes and enable implementation with appropriate governance.
• Develop compelling presentations and strategic narratives for senior stakeholders.
