Job summary

Augustana College is seeking a Manager of Grants & Corporate Relations to lead grant writing and foundation funding efforts for the College (75%) and WVIK Quad Cities NPR (25%). Based in the Office of Advancement, you will coordinate proposals, reports, and donor communications to advance Presidential priorities, capital projects, and academic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of demonstrated grant writing, professional writing or related experience.
  • Strong writing, editing, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Succeeds at planning and managing multiple projects with deadlines under limited supervision.
  • Proven computer skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to understand program and project content in academic and student life, and public radio.
  • Capable of communicating effectively with a diverse group of grantors, faculty and colleagues.
  • Thrives in a team project environment that adheres to specific deadline driven tasks and goals.
  • Succeeds at handling confidential information appropriately.
  • Commitment to the mission of Augustana College and WVIK Quad Cities NPR.

Responsibilities

  • Collect content, write, edit, and/or support submission of annual grant proposals to corporations, foundations and government funding sources on a variety of topics ($1,000 - $1 million) for Augustana and WVIK
  • Maintain an operational calendar of submissions and reports
  • Write and compile grant reports
  • Work with faculty, staff, and administrators across campus to gather and interpret information for grant proposals and reports
  • Work with the Business Office to discuss and resolve questions pertaining to grant funds and budgets
  • Research local and national trends in corporate and foundation philanthropy, higher education, and public radio, and maintain a broad and deep knowledge of specific campus programs and projects
  • Identify new funding opportunities that match college and WVIK fundraising priorities
  • Handle and discuss confidential information appropriately
  • Participate in and support the overall efforts of the Advancement office by assisting with projects and events as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
