Job summary

The County of Tulare’s Health and Human Services Agency is recruiting to establish an employment list for current and future vacancies. This position supports budgeting, cost planning, and financial record maintenance in Visalia.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with accounting coursework and at least two years of accounting experience, knowledge of governmental accounting and budgeting, and the ability to prepare complex financial reports and management summaries.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree with major in accounting or business administration including 15 semester hours in accounting.
• Two years of experience in accounting and financial records maintenance.
• Knowledge of advanced accounting practices, cost accounting, governmental accounting, budgeting principles, and basic algebra.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the review of budget controls for County funds and special districts.
• Assist in the planning, development, and preparation of the County Cost Plan.
• Review and study changes in legal and procedural requirements for preparation of the Cost Plan.
• Participate in the maintenance of general and special ledgers and other accounting records.
• Coordinate and participate in the classification and distribution of income and expenditures to the proper accounts.
