Job summary

AIT seeks a procurement professional to identify external material needs in Michigan and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms that meet production schedules. You will coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality to ensure timely delivery at the lowest total cost.

You will evaluate proposals, manage vendor relations, and ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO quality standards while maintaining strong business ethics and contract integrity.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years of experience in an equivalent position.
• American Purchasing Society Certifications – CPP, CPPM, or CPM desirable.
• Knowledge of Global Shop, IFS, and/or other MRP/ERP systems.
• Experience working within an ISO quality plan a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify external material needs and source suppliers to meet production and delivery goals.
• Receive and evaluates proposals, develop negotiation plans, and complete negotiations with management approval.
• Qualify and approve vendors and coordinate purchase orders.
• Review contractual terms to protect the company’s interests and ensure compliance with quality standards.
