Job summary

Estrada Consulting, Inc. is seeking a seasoned GIS / Data Architect to design and maintain a map-based web application that blends geographic, transit, demographic, and analytical data.

You will translate complex spatial information into clear visualizations and scalable data models. Responsibilities include preparing and validating GIS datasets, coordinating with stakeholders, and developing repeatable processes for refreshing annual spatial data while ensuring accessibility and effective

Qualifications

• Experience with GIS datasets in interactive dashboards or web mapping.
• Proven ability to prepare and validate geographic layers and join spatial with tabular data.
• Knowledge of coordinate systems, spatial identifiers, and temporal-spatial data.
• Experience with corridor, transportation, demographic, or planning datasets preferred.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS, QGIS, PostGIS desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, integrate, and validate GIS and spatial datasets for interactive mapping and dashboard applications.
• Work with geographic data including points, lines, polygons, transit corridors, neighborhoods, and other geographic boundaries.
• Perform spatial joins and integrate geographic information with demographic, displacement, and other analytical datasets.
• Support interactive mapping capabilities including filtering, selection, highlighting, tooltips, zoom, and geographic drill-down.
• Ensure consistency of geographic identifiers, coordinate systems, spatial relationships, and mapped analytical results.
• Apply effective cartographic and visualization practices for both public-facing and internal audiences.
• Develop repeatable processes for refreshing annual spatial and analytical data.
• Document GIS data sources, structures, transformations, assumptions, and refresh procedures.
