Job summary

Sysco is seeking a skilled purchaser to manage buying activities for a large distribution organization in the United States. You will review movement, issue POs, and monitor inventory levels to protect margins.

Close collaboration with pricing, vendors, and sales will help keep stock aligned with demand and corporate contracts. The role requires 3–5 years in purchasing within retail/wholesale/distribution, strong Excel/Word/Outlook, and accurate data maintenance, including COO details.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years purchasing in like field and/or retail, wholesale, or distribution environment.
• Fluent in Excel, Word, Outlook, and basic PC navigation.
• 10 key and typing at a minimum of 30 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Review item movement to determine purchase needs, cut POs and review PO confirmations.
• Physically review inventory daily with focus on critical items.
• Handle credits and returns promptly to minimize shrink.
• Work with pricing department, vendors and corporate to ensure PO pricing accuracy.
• Plan and source logistics to support customers and maximize profitability.
• Coordinate with Sales to maximize timely utilization of inventories and reduce shrink.
• Maintain item maintenance data including COO and origin details.
