Job summary

Western & Southern Financial Group in Cincinnati seeks a Finance Analyst to support planning, budgeting and decision analysis for assigned business units. You will build annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and profitability models to guide strategic decisions.

The role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel modeling and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision. MBA or CFA/CPA preferred; 4–6 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field or commensurate selection criteria experience.
• MBA and/or Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting preferred.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or 1–3 years with an MBA.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction from management.
• Strong project management, organization and time management skills.
• Proven ability to influence a group to a recommended course of action.
• Advanced spreadsheet applications with extensive modeling across units.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to prepare concise reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of databases a plus.
• CFA, CPA or CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Constructs yearly financial plans (budgets) and quarterly forecasts.
• Develops decision analysis tools necessary to help manage and grow the business.
• Identifies and implements process and cost improvements.
• Represents Finance Department in unit meetings and updates management on key items.
• Develops, implements and maintains profitability and break-even models.
• Performs analyses in support of potential acquisition candidates.
• Creates analyses to assist in the pricing of products.
• Develops, implements and reports business unit performance measures and key metrics.
• Prepares and communicates Scorecard commentary quarterly for each unit.
• Prepares variance analyses to budget monthly for key management reports.
• Cross-trained as backup for another business unit; cross-trains another analyst as backup.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
