Amazon (AWS) is seeking a Strategic Finance Manager to partner with engineering, product, sales, and operations leaders. You will own end-to-end financial planning and modeling for AI/cloud initiatives, influencing investment priorities and long‑term growth.

This role sits at the heart of AWS Finance, delivering rigorous financial analysis and scalable processes. You will build models for infrastructure, pricing, and go‑to‑market decisions, and present insights to senior leadership.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field.
• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience.
• Proven experience building financial and operational reports that inform decisions.
• Experience forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation.
• Experience building financial models for forecasting and problem solving.
• Experience communicating results to senior leadership.

AWS Finance is a critical pillar of the Finance & Global Business Services (FGBS) organization — the team that provides end-to-end financial support for all of AWS. But this isn’t traditional finance. At AWS, finance leaders are strategic business partners and trusted advisors who sit at the table where the biggest decisions are made.

As a finance business leader at AWS, you will partner directly with engineering, product, sales, and operations leaders to influence multi‑billion dollar investment decisions, evaluate the economics of new services and regions, structure complex enterprise deals, optimize go‑to‑market strategies, and drive the financial discipline that enables AWS to grow responsibly at massive scale. Whether you’re building the business case for a new data center, modeling the unit economics of a generative AI service, or advising sales leadership on compensation strategy — your work directly impacts how AWS serves customers around the world.

Key job responsibilities

• Own end-to-end financial planning, analysis, and strategic recommendations for a high-growth business area — spanning capital investments, P&L management, pricing strategy, and go‑to‑market optimization
• Build financial models that inform multi-billion dollar decisions across infrastructure expansion, product launches, enterprise deal structures, and generative AI investments
• Partner directly with senior business leaders as a trusted advisor on investment priorities, resource allocation, and long‑term growth strategy
• Develop and present insights to senior leadership through business reviews, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations
• Influence long‑term business strategy through scenario modeling, business case development, and economic analysis
• Work cross‑functionally with engineering, product, sales, and operations teams to translate business priorities into financial frameworks
• Drive operational excellence and controllership across your business area, utilizing automation and AI‑powered tools to enhance financial processes and accelerate decision‑making
• Partner with business and operations leaders to provide financial strategy and controllership for AWS’s sustainability commitments — including renewable energy investments, carbon emissions reporting, and water stewardship — ensuring financial rigor for sustainable, long‑term growth

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
• 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision‑making experience
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
• Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
• Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)
• Experience communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA, or CFA
• CPA, or CMA
• 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
• Experience delivering results for large, cross‑functional initiatives/projects
• Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
• Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
