Job summary

CAC Office on Aging seeks a Finance & Grants Manager to lead fiscal management for OOA and Nutrition Services, coordinating with CAC Central Office Finance. The role oversees budgeting, grant and contract financials, reporting, and closeouts, supervising the fiscal team and ensuring compliance.

The position reports to the OOA Director, works with CAC Central Office, and ensures accurate financial operations, payroll coordination, and audit readiness within a centralized system.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of governmental/nonprofit accounting, budgeting, grant management, and internal controls.
  • Knowledge of grant and contract fiscal compliance, financial reporting, forecasting, and closeout practices.
  • Ability to analyze financial information, identify variances and risks, and communicate recommendations.
  • Ability to read and interpret government regulations, grant agreements, contracts, and financial instructions.
  • Ability to supervise accounting staff, establish priorities, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Strong spreadsheet, financial-system, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • High degree of accuracy, professional judgment, and ability to work effectively with program leadership and Central Office Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Leads overall OOA fiscal management and assigned Nutrition Services fiscal support in coordination with program leadership and CAC Central Office Finance.
  • Prepares and manages overall and program-level budgets; performs routine budget-to-actual analysis; projects revenue and expenditures; and recommends adjustments.
  • Reviews grants and contracts for fiscal requirements, including budgets, allowable costs, match, reporting, reimbursement, and closeout requirements.
  • Reviews and approves routine grant/program invoices and reimbursement requests prepared by the Accounting Specialist – AR and prepares complex fiscal submissions when appropriate.
  • Reviews AP-related fiscal documentation prepared by the Accounting Specialist – AP for budget availability, coding, grant allowability, completeness, and supporting documentation before routing through CAC processes.
  • Manages annual and grant/program closeouts, including deadlines, supporting schedules, reconciliations, accruals, receivables/payables, and requested journal-entry support.
  • Produces and/or reviews financial reports for management, boards, funders, auditors, and program staff.
