Job summary

The State University of New York College of Optometry seeks an experienced financial professional to lead the College’s budget and financial operations. You will oversee budgeting, accounting, bursar operations, banking services, and financial reporting, guiding senior leadership with analyses and projections.

You will supervise a small team, ensure regulatory compliance, and support audits and financial filings across SUNY systems and the University Eye Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, or business operations.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to analyze, summarize, and clearly communicate complex financial information to a variety of audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic oversight of the College’s financial operations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor campus and departmental budgets.
• Prepare financial analyses, projections, reports, metrics, and KPIs for planning and decision-making.
