Job summary

Generate Capital is seeking a Sr. Analyst, Strategic Finance to join the IR & Strategic Finance team in San Francisco.

This role blends portfolio analytics, financial modeling, strategic planning, and process improvement to translate complex data into clear insights for risk management and decision making. You will develop the corporate model and forecasting tools, improve data flows with FP&A and Asset Management, and build scalable processes while leveraging AI to accelerate tasks and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
• 1–6 years of relevant experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, FP&A, portfolio analytics, or related fields.
• Strong finance fundamentals including three-statement modeling and DCF.
• Foundational accounting knowledge with GAAP/non-GAAP awareness; advanced expertise is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience building and trouble-shooting complex models.
• Ability to work with large data sets and complex information.
• Strong analytical judgment and ability to simplify multivariable problems.
• Experience designing scalable processes or analytical frameworks.
• Clear, concise communication and collaborative working style.

Responsibilities

• Develop a detailed understanding of Generate’s portfolio, including composition, exposures, cash flows, performance, and risk drivers.
• Own and improve recurring portfolio analytics, valuation support, diversification analysis, sensitivities, and reporting.
• Translate large financial data sets into clear insights for senior stakeholders.
• Build scalable data and reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Partner with FP&A, Asset Management, and Technology to improve data flows and reporting.
• Support the Strategic Business Plan with dashboards, bottom-up analysis, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the corporate model and related business models.
• Build analytical tools and leverage AI to accelerate work and support diligence, IR, FP&A, and other priorities.
