Job summary

Cypress HCM is seeking a Strategic Finance Analyst to support core financial operations within its Strategic Finance Center of Excellence. The role focuses on accruals, headcount forecasting and position management, and finance master data management in Oracle EDM.

You will help deliver accurate, timely financial processes and maintain master data and hierarchies relied upon by FP&A, budgeting and reporting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Complete complex financial modeling development, improvement, and maintenance.
• Execute accrual and reclassification processes, validate expense inputs and supporting documentation, and reconcile records to support a timely financial close.
• Support headcount forecasting and position management by maintaining planning inputs and reconciling workforce data with finance partners.
• Analyze headcount and expense variances, identify discrepancies, and support forecast updates and planning consolidations.
• Process finance master data requests through EDM validation, execution and change records; maintain change history.
• Support validation and impact assessment for department name changes and hierarchy updates.
• Maintain finance master data including product codes, legal entities, GL accounts, source members.
• Audit and reconcile models, accruals and master data to resolve issues.
• Partner with stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies and assess impact of changes on planning and reporting.
• Document repeatable processes, validation checks and controls for accruals, headcount forecasting and EDM execution.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on results, forecasts and master data status.
• Provide strategic and ad hoc analyses to support key decisions.

Job description

We are seeking a Strategic Finance Analyst to support core financial operations within its Strategic Finance Center of Excellence (COE).

This role focuses on accruals, headcount forecasting and position management, and finance master data management (MDM) in Oracle Enterprise Data Management (EDM). As the COE takes on EDM execution, this analyst will help deliver accurate, timely financial processes and maintain the master data and hierarchies that FP&A, budgeting, and reporting depend on.

The ideal candidate combines strong financial analysis and Excel modeling skills with hands-on experience in financial close processes, workforce forecasting, data reconciliation, and financial master data maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete complex financial modeling development, improvement, and maintenance.
• Execute accrual and reclassification processes, validate expense inputs and supporting documentation, and reconcile records to support an accurate and timely financial close.
• Support headcount forecasting and position management by maintaining planning inputs, tracking hiring, attrition and internal movements, and reconciling workforce data with finance partners.
• Analyze headcount and expense variances, identify discrepancies, and support forecast updates and financial planning consolidations.
• Process finance master data requests in Oracle EDM through standardized intake, completeness and accuracy checks, approved execution, verification, and confirmation to the requester; maintain a record of every change.
• Support validation and downstream-impact assessment for new departments, department name changes, and department hierarchy changes.
• Support maintenance of additional finance master data within assigned permissions, including product codes, legal entities, GL accounts, source members, etc.
• Audit and reconcile financial models, accrual records, headcount inputs and master data to identify and resolve accuracy issues.
• Partner with Strategic Finance, Accounting and system stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies and assess the impact of master data changes on planning and reporting.
• Establish and document repeatable processes, validation checks and controls for accruals, headcount forecasting and EDM execution.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on financial results, headcount forecasts and master data request status.
• Provide strategic and ad hoc analysis to support key business decisions and evolving priorities.
• Ensure reporting systems and source data are accurate and reconciled, with consistent cost center, department and ownership mappings.

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 4+ years of financial analysis experience.
• Advanced Excel modeling skills.
• Hands-on experience with accruals, headcount forecasting or finance master data management, including data validation and reconciliation.
• Experience working with financial planning, accounting or enterprise master data systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Data Management (EDM), including master data request validation, attribute maintenance and approved change execution.
• Knowledge of cost center and department structures, ownership attributes and hierarchy mappings.
• Experience with downstream-impact assessment, change verification and traceable change records.
• Understanding of finance dimensions and mappings supporting FP&A, budgeting and reporting.
• Experience supporting headcount forecasting, position management and workforce data reconciliation.
• Familiarity with Oracle EPM, Oracle EBS, Workday and related financial planning or accounting systems.
• Experience maintaining finance master data, resolving mapping discrepancies and supporting hierarchy changes.
• Strong understanding of accruals, expense timing, reclassifications and financial close processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience documenting finance processes, validation controls and master data change procedures, including segregation of duties.
