Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a Strategic Finance Analyst to join the growing finance team in a role that bridges operational support and long-term planning. You will translate engineering and supply-chain challenges into quantitative financial solutions and collaborate across departments in a hybrid work setting.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in corporate finance or FP&A, with strong Excel skills and interest in defense aviation.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of finance experience in corporate finance, investment banking, FP&A, consulting, or high-growth startups.
• Bachelor’s degree from a US institution in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field preferred.
• Interest or experience in aerospace/defense or government contracting highly regarded.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel with dynamic models and scenario analyses.
• Willingness to learn ERP/FP&A systems (Netsuite, Manufacturo, Adaptive).
• Thrive in a fast-paced startup and in a hybrid, cross-continent team setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage with engineers, suppliers, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end financial models for products and business lines and sanitize data.
• Develop financial frameworks to support strategic decisions across manufacturing, supply chain, and facilities.
• Execute rapid analyses to inform scalable, long-term solutions with 80% fidelity.
• Create visibility into manufacturing costs alongside FP&A and explore cost-reduction roadmaps.
• Maintain competitive landscape databases and target screening for opportunities and threats.
• Support investor relations with draft executive and board materials.
• Partner with Advanced Development, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Growth teams on multi-year proposals.

We are seeking a Strategic Finance Analyst to join our growing finance team in a high-impact role that bridges operational support and long-term planning. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, competitive, and excited by the opportunity to be the first person to tackle a problem. You should have the flexibility to partner with teams from across the business, such as translating engineering and supply-chain challenges into quantitative performance measures and financial solutions. Foremost, you should be energized to support a defense aviation company that is redefining the pace of hardware R&D in the 21st century.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end financial models for products and business lines, with responsibility to gather and sanitize data across the business
• Develop novel financial frameworks to support strategic decisions across manufacturing, supply chain, facilities, and other functions
• Execute rapid, scrappy, “80% fidelity” analyses on short timelines that later feed into scalable, long-term solutions
• Create transparency into manufacturing costs alongside FP&A, and explore cost reduction roadmaps for major initiatives
• Maintain competitive landscape databases and target screening to identify emerging opportunities and threats
• Support investor relations functions, including drafting of executive & board level materials
• Partner with Advanced Development, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Growth functions to provide financial support for multi-year endeavors and proposals

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in one or more of the following: corporate finance, investment banking, FP&A, consulting, or relevant finance roles at a high-growth hardware or manufacturing startup
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited US institution, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field preferred
• Strong preference for experience or demonstrated interest in aerospace and defense industry, government contracting, or other highly regulated field
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including dynamic financial models and scenario analyses
• Willingness to learn and engage with corporate ERP & FP&A systems (Netsuite, Manufacturo, Adaptive)
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a past-paced, dynamic startup environment
• Self-starter comfortable working in a hybrid work environment, where many teams members will be located in cross-continent settings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with customers, internal engineer & test teams, and suppliers effectively
• U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident status

$110,000 - $145,000 a year

The salary range listed for this role is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including role scope and responsibilities, relevant experience, education and training, key skills, market data, and business needs.
