Job summary

Harvard University FAS is seeking a Finance Administrator to independently manage complex financial administration, including budget development, forecasting, and analysis. You will partner with faculty, program leaders, and senior administrators to support strategic decision-making through financial planning and stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Experience managing multiple funding sources, including sponsored research, endowments, gifts, and unrestricted funds.
• Familiarity with university financial systems and policies (preferred).
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary financial advisor for an academic department or center within FAS.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and stewardship for sponsored and non-sponsored funds.
• Provide variance analyses, trend reports, and financial presentations to leadership.
• Collaborate with department administrators to develop costing sheets and allocate funds transparently.
• Ensure compliance with university policies and donor restrictions.
