Job summary

Resource Energy is seeking an Energy Markets Analyst to support multiple clients in energy procurement operations, including initiating and managing RFPs and strategy management.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in deregulated electricity and natural gas markets, evaluates supplier pricing, and presents market recommendations to commercial customers while building client relationships.

Qualifications

• AA/BS degree in Finance, Energy, Mathematics, Economics, Business, or related analytical field preferred.
• 3-5 years in energy procurement, energy brokerage, utility account management, or related energy market function.
• Experience with commercial electricity and natural gas procurement.
• Experience evaluating supplier pricing proposals and managing procurement events.
• Knowledge of ISO/RTO markets (PJM, ERCOT, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run RFPs in all deregulated markets in North America for electricity and natural gas.
• Research and track utility account information and provide client updates on pricing.
• Structure and negotiate energy contracts and present market updates to clients.
• Assist with forecasting, monitoring, and tracking success of strategies via reporting.
• Review ISO and local utility charges and evaluate supplier proposals from retailers.
