Job summary

Nichiha is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Program Manager for our Macon, GA site. This role leads safety efforts, develops programs, and ensures compliance with applicable regulations through collaborative leadership across plant management, supervisors and hourly personnel.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 3 years in EHS program management, with strong interpersonal skills and a track record of multi-phase environmental projects and audit

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental & Health Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in environmental health and safety program management or environmental compliance governance.
• In-depth knowledge for environmental compliance governance and regulations (e.g. Lock Out / Tag Out, Confined Space, etc.).
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with proven track record of managing multi-phase environmental projects, compliance implementations, and audit tracking.
• Demonstrated ability to build alignment across multi-disciplinary teams and influence internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety efforts for the site by developing, driving and ensuring compliance with safety policies and programs.
• Develop, review and edit required programs, processes, procedures, protocols, etc. to ensure compliance with best practices and applicable regulations tailored to organizational needs.
• Drive investigation, tracking and oversight of root cause analysis and corrective action plans following audits, inspections, or noncompliance incidents.
• Monitor & Report daily, regular and periodic inspections and audits as scheduled.
• Coordinate gathering and collection of data and reports needed to compile internal and externally required reports.
• Oversee the preparation of investigatory and required periodic reports and obtain internal reviews, approvals and signatures.
• Submit required reports and prepare answers and responses to questions from Nichiha HQ.
• Proactively identify and communicate strategic EHS risks, metrics and progress to leadership.
